Title II of the federal Carl D. Perkins Program, which provides funding for the Tech Prep programs, did not receive funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2012. Additionally, the State Education Plan was updated to include the expected closure of the Texas Tech Prep consortia, as of August 31, 2011.
As of August 31, 2011, West Central Texas Tech Prep will no longer be able to provide services for local articulation alignments for Cisco College (CC), Ranger College (RC), Western Texas College (WTC) and Texas State Technical College West Texas (TSTC) and local area ISD’s. All four colleges have agreed to honor all current and previous alignments with local area ISD’s with approved agreements.
